    Thinner & Lighter iPad 2 Has Dual-core A5 CPU with 9X Graphics

    After months of speculation iPad 2 is now shows its face in San Francisco this afternoon. A Surprise appearance from Steve Jobs makes the iPad 2 showdown more colorful as he gives his awesome keynote speech over new iPad 2. After so many tablet release news in last two months the whole world is watching the Apple’s move closely, how they respond. And we now see that Apple don’t make any dramatic change in their original iPad(except thickness), they just upgrade it from every other expect. First of all Apple introduce first ever dual core CPU on this mobile devices. They use Apple made dual core A5 1 GHz CPU to power this second generation iPad. So it means iPad has two times more processing power than original iPad. Apple also claims that its graphics performance is up to nine times better than the original iPad.

    The iPad 2 is 33 percent thinner than its predecessor, only 8.8mm. While the previous iPad is 13.4 mm. That’s a major achievement for Apple engineers. It’s also lighter than iPad. Apple iPad 2 weighs just under 601g, which sounds far better than the 730g of its predecessor.

    Despite the slimmer design and the increased processer power requirements have been kept the same. Apple promises 10 hours of battery life with 1 months of standby time.

    Now comes to the display. iPad 2 has the same 9.7" IPS LCD screen with XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels) like its predecessor. iPad 2 comes with an 1080p capable HDMI output with an Apple Digital AV Adapter(costs $39). You can now play 1080p content directly to your HDTV. Videos are shown in 720p quality. It also has a slot for a charger so you can recharge your iPad 2 battery while using it. You will be delighted to hear that this HDMI AV adapter is compatible with the iPhone 4, original iPad and the iPod Touch 4th generation. There is also a speaker on the back of new iPad. Zyro sensor is now taking its position on iPad too after success in iPhone 4.

    Apple has added a couple of video-call cameras into the iPad 2. The one on the back does 720p video recording at 30fps and 0.7MP images (960 x 720 px), same as the iPod Touch 4G. It can also do a 5x digital zoom. The front-facing imager will record at a more modest VGA resolution, also at 30fps. It can also shoots still images. Both these two cameras can be used for Facetime calling over Wi-Fi.

    Apple will also be releasing a series of colorful Smart covers for the iPad 2 which is best defined by Steve Jobs himself: "We designed the case right alongside the product. It's not a case - it's a cover." These covers attach magnetically to the device and protect its display from scratches. It automatically wakes and puts the device to sleep according to whether it's open or closed. It can be used as an ingenious morphing stand for the tablet. These Smart Covers will cost $39 in plastic or $69 if you opt for leather.

    The Apple iPad 2 will be available from 11th March in the US, Australia, Canada, UK, France, Germany and Japan. About twenty more countries will join the list on 26th March. And from the very first day of selling you have the option for two colors- black and white. Price of the 16GB Wi-Fi only version of the iPad 2 will cost $499, while the Wi-Fi+3G-enabled units start at $630. Upgrading to 32GB or 64GB of storage will set you back another $100 or $200 respectively.

    The Apple iPad 2 will be available on both AT&T and Verizon. It will also come in CDMA and EV-DO and available through Verizon in the US.
